Join SBUG for Bowling and Fun on July 24!
Last Thursday eleven riders enjoyed a 37 km mountain bike loop ride, from South Nowra out to Nowra Hill, Parma and Comberton Grange. The morning was chilly, but clear and sunny. Well earned refreshments were consumed at the ‘Fast n Fresh’ Cafe, amid lots of chatter about another great local ride.
On Sunday last, four brave cyclists set off on a bleak, cold and windy morning, to ride in the Booderee National Park. Fortunately the weather wasn’t as bad as predicted and the riders were able to enjoy a bracing cycle, around the south eastern edge of St Georges Basin then along Bherwerre Beach to Caves Beach. The beach conditions were perfect, with a low tide, a tail wind, and patches of blue sky and sun. Coffee and food were welcomed in Vincentia after the ride.
A Tenpin Bowling Social Night will be held on Friday 24th July at the Shoalhaven City Lanes, Narang Road Bomaderry, starting at 5:30pm followed by dinner at 7:00pm at North Nowra Tavern. Join us for dinner or both bowling and dinner. RSVP to Paul by Monday 20th on 0402 413 482
Membership renewal time is here again. Membership renewals for 2015/16 were due by 30 June 2015 and the annual membership fee is still only $20.00. Please arrange your membership renewal as soon as possible to ensure you continue to receive an email copy of our weekly media release, as well as general emails to all member from our committee.
ALL membership renewals need to be completed either on the SBUG website at www.shoalhavenbug.com.au in the Membership/Forms section, Online Membership Application/Renewal form OR on a hard copy of the Application/Renewal form which is also available on the website.

THURSDAY 16/7/15 – MIDWEEK MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE – PARMA CREEK NATURE RESERVE LOOP; approx 35 km / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Unsealed roads and bush tracks. The ride will start at 8:30am from ‘United’ Service Station (the old log cabin) on the western side of the Princes Highway, 4km south of the Jervis Bay Road intersection. Contact Rod 0428 211 487.
SATURDAY 18/7/15 – NOWRA TO GREENWELL POINT, RETURN; / 40 km / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Some Traffic / The ride starts at 8:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact: Peter (02) 4446 0119
SATURDAY 18/7/15 – SATURDAY MORNING MEANDER; / 15 to 20 km / Slow pace / Easy / Some traffic / Sealed roads / Starts at 8:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. The ride route varies week to week and is chosen taking into account prevailing weather conditions on the day. The ride is always within the Nowra area. Contact: Tom (02) 4421 6719. SUNDAY 19/7/15 – BELLAWONGARAH TO CAMBEWARRA LOOKOUT; / 25 km return / Moderate pace / Some Traffic / Medium difficulty / Significant hills. Starts at 9:00am at the intersection of Kangaroo Valley Road and Tourist Road, Bellawongarah. Ride to Cambewarra Lookout for coffee and great views of the Shoalhaven Area. MONDAY 20/7/15 – NOWRA TO BERRY, RETURN; / 50 km / Moderate pace / Some traffic. The ride starts at 8:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. A medium ride with a few small hills. WEDNESDAY 22/7/15 – NOWRA TO COMERONG ISLAND FERRY; SBUG / 25 km return / Slow pace / Easy / Flat terrain / Some traffic / This is a relatively easy ride suitable for someone returning to cycling.
