JOIN SBUG AT BAREFOOT BOWLS THIS SUNDAY!

Last Sunday fifteen Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group cyclists enjoyed one of their classic rides from Thirroul to Kiama. The group started from Thirroul railway station and rode via the coastal shared cycle path to Wollongong where a refreshment break was enjoyed before continuing on local roads and cycle paths to Shellharbour for lunch. After lunch the riders continued their ride to Kiama with some spectacular coastal scenery around Minnamurra and Kiama. Another great ride was enjoyed by all participants.

Next Sunday afternoon, 1st March 2015, SBUG will be holding another social function, Barefoot Bowing at Bomaderry Bowling Club. Enjoy a game of lawn bowls with coaching provided, followed by a BBQ, all inclusive cost is only $20. THURSDAY 26/2/15 – ROAD BIKE RIDE – KIAMA TO MINNAMURRA RAINFOREST, RETURN; 40 km / Moderate pace / Uses Off-road Cyclepaths / Uses On-road Cycleways / Sealed and Unsealed Roads. The ride will start at 8:30am from the Surf Beach Reserve car park on Manning Street, just prior to Bong Bong Street, cycling to Jamberoo and Minnamurra Rainforest, returning through Jamberoo, Dunmore and Minnamurra via Swamp Road. SATURDAY 28/2/15 – NOWRA TO GREENWELL POINT, RETURN; / 40 km / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Some Traffic / The ride starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact: Peter (02) 4446 0119

SATURDAY 28/2/15 – SATURDAY MORNING MEANDER; / 15 to 20 km / Slow pace / Easy / Some traffic / Sealed roads / Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. The ride route varies week to week and is chosen taking into account prevailing weather conditions on the day. The ride is always within the Nowra area. Contact: Tom (02) 4421 6719. SATURDAY 5/2/15 – FAST TRAINING RIDE TO GREENWELL POINT and RETURN; 40 km / Fast pace / for experienced cyclists. Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra (Not an official BUG ride). The fast group usually ride as a rotating peloton. Contact: Rod 0428 211 487

SUNDAY RIDE 1/3/15 – BERRY TO BROUGHTON VALE; 20 km return / Slow pace / Easy ride / Some Traffic. The ride starts at 9:00am from Berry railway station. MONDAY 2/3/15 – NOWRA TO BERRY, RETURN; / 50 km / Moderate pace / Some traffic. There is a new starting time for this ride; 8:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. A medium ride with a few small hills. Great scenery. Suitable for riders looking for a medium challenge. Always the option to take the train back. Coffee at a Cafe in Berry. WEDNESDAY 4/3/15 – NOWRA TO COMERONG ISLAND FERRY, RETURN; / 25 km return / Slow pace / Easy / Flat terrain / Some traffic. Starts at 8:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact Jim (02) 4423 2943.
