RIDE FROM HUSKISSON TO VINCENTIA WITH SBUG THIS SUNDAY

Next Sunday, 2 November, Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group (SBUG) will be riding from Huskisson to Vincentia return, a distance of 12kms return. The ride starts at 09:00am from the Huskisson Hotel car park. An easy meander along the shared cyclepath and some local roads beside the fabulous Jervis Bay. This ride is a very easy ride for anyone wanting to give cycling a go or for someone returning to cycling. For those wanting a longer ride of about 34kms, start at 8:30am from Falls Creek Rural Fire Station. Morning tea will be at the Bayside Bakery, Vincentia. Last Sunday,  four riders had a leisurely ride to Bamerang Dam and back. The group enjoyed views of the RiverFest dragon boat action on the Shoalhaven River as they passed by in very warm conditions. A well earned coffee break was had in Nowra after the ride.

Friday 31 October join SBUG for Halloween Lunch at the Shoalhaven Ex-Services Club, Worrigee at 12:30pm. A social occasion to catch up with friends and family for a chat and lunch. All welcome. Contact Paul (02) 4446 1052

THURSDAY – MIDWEEK MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE SUSSEX INLET TO BENDALONG; 40 km return / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Uses Off-road Cyclepaths / Some traffic / Sealed and unsealed roads and bush tracks. The ride will start at 9:00am from the Sussex Inlet RSL Club. Riding to Bendalong, via Swan Lake and the Walter Hood monument. Coffee break in Bendalong then lunch at Cudmirrah on the way back to Sussex Inlet. Bring water, snacks, sun cream and swimmers. Contact: Rod 0428 211 487.

SATURDAY – FAST TRAINING RIDE TO GREENWELL POINT, RETURN; 40 km / Fast pace / for experienced cyclists. Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra (Not an official BUG ride). The fast group usually ride as a rotating peloton. Contact: Rod 0428 211 487

SATURDAY MORNING MEANDER: 15 to 20 km / Slow pace / Easy / Some traffic / Sealed roads / Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. The ride route varies week to week and is chosen taking into account prevailing weather conditions on the day. The ride is always within the Nowra area. Contact: Tom (02) 4421 6719. MONDAY – NOWRA TO BERRY, RETURN; 50 km / Moderate pace / Some traffic. Starts at 9:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. A medium ride with a few small hills. Great scenery. Suitable for riders looking for a medium challenge. Always the option to take the train back. Coffee at a Cafe in Berry. Contact: Peter (02) 4446 0119.

WEDNESDAY – NOWRA TO COMERONG ISLAND FERRY, RETURN; 25 km return / Slow pace / Easy / Flat terrain / Some traffic / Suitable for beginners. Starts at 8:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact Jim (02) 4423 2943.

Shoalhaven BUG welcomes all riders on their rides, children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
