Boderee NP MTB Ride Proves Lots of Fun!

On Sunday last, seven mountain bikers started the Currambene Forest adventure to Callala Bay, one developed mechanical problems and had to pull out of the ride but the remaining cyclists pushed on through some very wet and badly cut up tracks, as a result of trail bike usage. The riders were surprised at the wet state of the fire trails and tracks with the majority of cyclists experiencing some minor falls. The Bay was looking picturesque and colourful, dotted with yachts and clear views to Beecroft Peninsula and beyond. Refreshments were enjoyed at Callala Bay, before heading back through the forest on an alternate route back to the starting point. An enjoyable but challenging ride.

Last Thursday’s Midweek Mountain Bike ride was attended by 15 riders who enjoyed a very scenic ride in the Booderee National Park, to Murrays Beach via Caves Beach and the Lighthouse Ruins. The day was sunny and mild, a perfect winters morning for a cycle. The views of the ocean and Jervis Bay were magnificent. One whale was spotted and two of the riders stopped for a swim at Murrays Beach. A leisurely lunch was consumed at the Bayview Cafe in Vincentia, whilst basking in the warm sunshine.
