The second Working Group meeting covered the review of Chapter 2 of the the draft plan, including bike usage statistics, crash analysis data, bike safety and bike network promotion, and the SWOT analysis feedback from committee members. The meeting then went on to consider the formation of the plans guiding principles, objectives and actions; as well as, how the committee might ‘map’ priority bike routes. This would need to cover on road, off road and mountain bike routes. The meeting also began discussion on the best industry standards that could be applied to this plan and the Shoalhaven Cycling Network.
The Working Group will meet 6 times prior to the preparation of a Bike Plan for public exhibition (estimated to occur in early 2013). The Working Group members will be encouraged to review and participate in group discussion at meetings and via email. Also, recognising the interest and representation from people in Ulladulla, at least 2 of the 6 proposed meetings will be held in Ulladulla.
The third Working Group meeting is scheduled for early December at the Shoalhaven City Council building in Nowra.
