LIFE MEMBERSHIP FOR JIM FLORENCE.
At the Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group Inc. (SBUG) Christmas function held on Friday 28 November at the Lookout Café, Cambewarra Mountain, Jim Florence was awarded Life Membership of Shoalhaven BUG. Jim has been a tireless worker for the group since its inception seventeen years ago either as Secretary or President. At the group’s Annual General Meeting held last September Jim announced that he would not be nominating for any positions on the committee this year. He said “The reason for this is not because these are arduous jobs, but because I feel it is in the best interest of the BUG to have new, fresh, enthusiastic people with new ideas in these positions. It is easy to get stuck in a rut and I am looking forward to a revitalised BUG under new leadership. I will remain an active BUG member and offer the new leadership all the support they need for a smooth transition.” Congratulations to Jim on his award, the first Life Membership awarded by Shoalhaven BUG. The Christmas function was attended by more than thirty members and guests who enjoyed a variety of excellent Tapas dishes as well as some fine wines. Thanks to Paul for organising the function.
