SOCIAL DINNER RIDE TO BERRY FOR PIZZA THIS SUNDAY WITH SBUG

Next Sunday, 14 December, Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group (SBUG) will be riding from Bomaderry to Berry for a social get together and dinner, a distance of 25km. This ride has the following classification; Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Some traffic / Sealed roads. The ride starts at 3:30pm from the Bomaderry Railway Station and the route to Berry will be via Bolong Road, Back Forest Road and Coolangatta Road. It will be a slow paced ride with plenty of regroups. A booking has been made for a limited number of people at Mezzadella’s Restaurant (they have great Pizza’s) partners are welcome. You order and pay for your own. Return by train at 8:15 or 10:00pm or arrange your own return to Bomaderry by private transport. Last Sunday five riders took advantage of a beautiful morning, after the stormy weather of the last week, for a leisurely ride from Berry to Seven Mile Beach National Park. The group cycled a new track through the National Park before stopping for coffee and cake at Martin’s home on the way back to Berry. Thanks to Martin and Karen for their great hospitality.

THURSDAY – MIDWEEK MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE IN BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK; 35 km return / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Some traffic / Unsealed roads / Mountain bikes are required. The ride starts at 08:00am from the intersection of Jervis Bay Road and the Hyams Beach access road. The route is via Caves Beach, Wreck Bay, Stony Creek Road to the ruined lighthouse then a very scenic ride to Governor Head and Murray’s Beach for a swim before returning along Jervis Bay Road. There are spectacular views of the Tasman Sea and Jervis Bay along this ride. Bring water and snack food. Coffee will be at Vincentia after ride. Contact: Jan (02) 4422 0793

SATURDAY – FAST TRAINING RIDE TO GREENWELL POINT, RETURN; 40 km / Fast pace / for experienced cyclists. Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra (Not an official BUG ride). The fast group usually ride as a rotating peloton. Contact: Rod 0428 211 487

SATURDAY – NOWRA TO GREENWELL POINT, RETURN; 40 km / Moderate pace / Medium difficulty / Some Traffic / The ride starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact: Peter (02) 4446 0119

SATURDAY MORNING MEANDER: 15 to 20 km / Slow pace / Easy / Some traffic / Sealed roads / Starts at 7:00am from the Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. The ride route varies week to week and is chosen taking into account prevailing weather conditions on the day. The ride is always within the Nowra area. Contact: Tom (02) 4421 6719. MONDAY – NOWRA TO BERRY, RETURN; 50 km / Moderate pace / Some traffic. Starts at 9:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. A medium ride with a few small hills. Great scenery. Suitable for riders looking for a medium challenge. Always the option to take the train back. Coffee at a Cafe in Berry. Contact: Peter (02) 4446 0119.

WEDNESDAY – NOWRA TO COMERONG ISLAND FERRY, RETURN; 25 km return / Slow pace / Easy / Flat terrain / Some traffic / Suitable for beginners. Starts at 8:00am from Nowra Visitors Centre, Pleasant Way, Nowra. Contact Jim (02) 4423 2943.
