DISCUSS CYCLING OPTIONS AT SBUG MONTHLY MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY

The monthly meeting of the Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group (SBUG) will be held on Wednesday, 4 March, at the Bomaderry Bowling Club, upstairs in the Board Room, starting at 7:00 pm. All members and friends are welcome. You are also welcome to join some of us for dinner in the bistro at 6:00pm before the meeting or for coffee and cake after the meeting.

As a change from the usual SBUG midweek mountain bike, bush ride, last Thursday fourteen cyclists participated in a road bike ride to Minnamurra Rainforest. The riders started in Kiama and rode to Jamberoo and Minnamurra Rainforest, returning via Swamp Road, through Dunmore and Minnamurra. A coffee break was had in Jamberoo where the riders were welcomed and treated with friendly hospitality before the group rode along the coastal shared path back to Kiama for lunch. Another enjoyable ride was reported by all who took part.

Last Sunday seven Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group cyclists had a leisurely, easy ride from Berry railway station to Broughton Vale and back to Berry. The morning was very warm with little breeze. The riders rode to the end of Broughton Vale Road and then Bong Bong Road and back to the Bookshop Café in Berry for well earned refreshments.

Fourteen SBUG members and friends enjoyed ‘barefoot bowls’ at Bomaderry Bowling Club on Sunday evening. A few cyclists showed real talent on the bowling green, but most of the cyclists agreed that they should stay with riding their bike. After a load of fun on the green the group enjoyed a wonderful BBQ meal that was  prepared by the Bomaderry bowlers. There is no truth in the rumour that President Mel and Warwick will play number one pennants for BBC in 2015!
