SBUG Riders Explore Bangalee

Last Thursdays Midweek Mountain Bike ride was attended by fourteen riders who enjoyed a great mountain bike ride through North Nowra and Bangalee. The ride was mostly on bush tracks beyond Bangalee Reserve along the Shoalhaven River to Peter Lawrence’s home for morning tea, then returning to the Slice of Life café, North Nowra, for lunch. On the way to Peter’s home the group rode on a track they had not ridden before and viewed an historic flood marker cut into a large rock, recording the river height on 27th April,1870, during the extreme flood of that year. On the return trip a couple of riders took a dip in the river at the wharf in Bangalee Reserve. Another good bush ride enjoyed by all who attended.

SBUG’s next social outing will be to the “ABBA Show” on Saturday 30 May, at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. If you are interested in joining SBUG members to see this show you should contact Paul Taylor on 02 4446 1052 as soon as possible.

On Wednesday 22 April the ride to Comerong Island Ferry has been cancelled. This ride will now be to the the Albatross Museum.  The ride will start at the SCC Information Centre at 8 am and will go to the Albatross Museum/Café to have coffee/morning tea. Tom McDonald is keen for us to try out the cafe as it is in operation again. Hope to see you on this ride!
