This Sunday, SBUG are holding their well known Southern Explorer Ride commencing from Bowral Swimming Pool Car Park at 9:30 am. Explore the picturesque cherry blossom lined shared pathways of Bowral village and the cycle path through farm land to Moss Vale. The ride will return to Bowral for Coffee. Last Thursday eleven cyclists had an adventurous bush track ride in the Parma Creek Nature Reserve. It was a warm and sunny autumn morning, good riding weather. The riders encountered creek crossings and a water fall, scrambling over rocks to access an overhang under the falls. A very pleasant mountain bike ride was topped off with well earned refreshments at the Fast & Fresh cafe South Nowra, after the ride.

Last Sunday four Shoalhaven Bicycle User Group cyclists braved threatening rain clouds to ride to the Comerong Island breakwall and return, about 40km. The group started from the Nowra Visitors Centre and rode along Comerong Island Road through Terara and Numbaa then took the ferry across to the island and rode to the breakwall at the southern end of Comerong Island. Road works are being carried out on part of the sand track which made for difficult riding at times but the group returned to Nowra for refreshments without any incidents. Thanks again to Menno for leading the ride.

In the next few weeks we are planning another social outing to the “ABBA Show” at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. If you are interested in joining SBUG members to see this show you should contact Paul Taylor on 02 4446 1052 as soon as possible.
