The Victorian State Government and Mildura Rural City Council have announced a combined $600,000 funding to complete a shared-use trail along the banks of the Murray River as part of the Mildura Tracks and Trails Strategy. The completed track will run from Blandowski Walk in Merbein through to Mildura’s Riverside Golf Course, with council believing the scenic route will prove popular with locals and tourists alike.
Just imagine a shared-use bike trail from Bomaderry Station via the old Nowra bridge crossing of the Shoalhaven River, and in an easterly direction along the banks of the river. The route could incorporate the shared pathway in Riverview Road and then follow the Shoalhaven River to Ferry Lane before taking the scenic ride to Greenwell Point, via Terara Road, Jindy Andy Lane and Greenwell Point Road.
Cycling infrastructure like this would provide wonderful recreational opportunities for Shoalhaven residents and visitors!
